The typewriter installation On Journalism #2 Typewriter writes generatively constructed stories about all journalist who have been killed worldwide between 1992 and today based on the existing data of their lives as well as their published work. The individual stories are connected through common fields of coverage, places, professions and many other aspects. Besides the text the typewriter creates also images e.g. flags which are heavier distorted the more journalists got killed in that particular country.

Paik Times Five

Résumé des concepteurs : 

The imagery of Paik Times Five is generated by the viewer’s movement: each person leaves behind them graphic traces in the virtual space. Various media (sourced online) are the raw material for this imagery — the viewer ‘paints’ the space with colors and textures of those videos. The viewer can fully reveal the video by holding his or her arms out and standing still. Any movement however, will distort and break apart the source video. The installation depends on the viewer moving between these two extremes: the passive watching of the media and the active creating of the imagery from this source.
